Super foods
I recently come across a buzzword super foods. I have asked my friends, colleagues, neighbours etc etc. I found quite some of them are also aware of these words. So in general, what are super foods? I have done quite some research in Internet. My conclusison is that these are usually raw organic foods, which contains more nutrients than our ordinary foods such as breads, rice, and vegetables. The nutrients ranges from vitamins to trace elements. In addition, these are foods which can fortify our bodies, and have some medical benefits. For example, blue green algae (spirulina and chlorella) are commonly regarded as a super food which can tackle cancer cells, and cleansing our blood stream (also known as detoxification). I found people usually buy spirulina and chlorella in powder format or in tablets. They are not cheap super foods. On the other hand, I also found another super food called maca. It is a plant root coming from Peru. Locals call it Peruvian Gingsen. It has been consumed by Peruvian people for thousands years, and widely known as an energy booster for our bodies.
